CBE Celebrates Second Acquisition in Two Months

January 15th, 2020 by CBE

Fresh off the heels of gaining a new service base in South Carolina’s Piedmont, CBE is expanding further—this time, by acquiring a Savannah, Georgia-based office equipment dealer.

Company president John Eckstrom lauded the move, which came after discussions with friend and colleague John Prussia, as strategically aligned with CBE’s growth plan.

“With the acquisition, we now have a solid footprint in Savannah, which will allow us to reach into other parts of the Lowcountry of South Carolina and certainly into parts of southeast Georgia,” said Eckstrom.

Between the two recent additions, our headquarters in Columbia, SC (serving the Midlands; Aiken, SC; and Augusta, GA), and our satellite offices in Charleston, SC and Florence, SC, we are now positioned to assist customers across the entire state of South Carolina—and beyond. Our multiple remote support personnel extend the coverage even further.

Within our successful print and IT solutions company, the fastest growing department is the network operations center, which is staffed by an experienced team of IT professionals. Eckstrom credits the division’s prestigious client base—including the Columbia Fireflies (named the most technically advanced minor league ballpark in America for 2016) and television manufacturer Element Electronics—to word-of-mouth recommendations from other satisfied customers.

“CBE boasts an impressive client list, and many of the initial Managed Network Services relationships began with, ‘We have heard about you guys!’” Eckstrom said.

Over 45 years, Carolina Business Equipment has grown into “an IT company for IT companies,” and we look forward to moving into the future with our new partners. CBE is multi-line dealer, carrying full lines of Sharp, Toshiba, and Oki Data printers and copiers, and we also operate a factory service training facility from our corporate headquarters in Columbia, SC.
